Goal

Well, I have a goal. We are in the final stages of booking our cruise. It looks like it will probably be April 18, 2010. So, I have four months to loose 40 lbs or 4 clothing sizes. I've made it two days so far with a healthy diet and exercise. Wish me luck. I now have some MAJOR motivation and a deadline set. I think that will help!

Too late for running

Didn't get to run. Had to pack the car and it took longer than expected.

Maybe at Jason's I can do that. We may be there til Sunday now due to storm. Run the hills of New Glarus!

Tuesday

Next to the last workday here. Last chance to go for a run in Oshkosh, so I will do that this evening and enjoy the Christmas lights. Its in the 20's so will be a good one.

We leave for Jason's tomorrow, then to Nikki's. I'll be running in the heat soon!

4 miles planned for this evening. Then motel workouts after that till we hit AZ. It may take a while to get there since there are storms on the way. Gotta love winter!

The weekend

I got to run 4 miles in my new shoes. They felt great and the snow was no problem. Gotta love the gripping tread. It was about 25 degrees, snow all over of course, and Christmas lights everywhere. Gotta love Oshkosh in the winter around Christmas time. I will miss it here.

Yeah, even the winter weather can't keep me from missing it. Great people; nice city. Good friends.

Sad to leave, so it's hard to be excited about a new place, starting over, building new everything. Funny, I didn't feel this way about leaving Monterey AT ALL and I loved the weather there. I guess weather in a place isn't really that important. It's all about the people and the work and the life.

Today

Well, today I haven't done anything yet. Kale is staying late at work, so I can't workout at the gym tonight, and my boys are grumpy and sick tonight, so I don't think I can even hit the treadmill until after they go to bed. By then, I usually have NO motivation to do anything except relax. We'll see what happens today.

Yesterday AM I did the gym. I've backed off on the weights and have upped my cardio for a while. Yesterday I did 20 minutes on the bike, and the the remainder 40 minutes on the tread-climber. It was actually enjoyable, and I managed to break a sweat even in the SUPER cold gym. Tomorrow AM I'll probably do the same thing again. At least it's something.

A Challenge!

Jeffrey Steele. He's a successful songwriter in Nashville, TV host and multi-millionaire. But he's also an avid mountain biker and a good friend of Karleen's. He had the nerve last night to suggest that triathletes and roadies are a big bunch of "weenies". Since I know he comes to Sundance every summer for their songwriters series, I told him to put his money where his mouth is. Squaw Peak, high noon. Well, actually 10am would work better but that's beside the point. He said he'd be waiting at the bottom with band-aides for me. I told him to get used to the bottom he'd be spending a lot of time there. He gave me all the specs on his expensive mountain bike. I gave him some suggestions for a motor that would fit on his gigantic frame. He said it's on. I have until June. The biggest thing I have on him is that his bike weighs 10lbs more than my carbon frame road bike. Now I just have to get a lot stronger... this guy is a lot of fun, but he's going down.

30 minutes of plodding

Well, too cold to run outside, even with new shoes to try out. So I did 30 minutes on the elli while watching tv. It was the usual routine...plod, sweat, faster, sweat, slower, sweat, uphill, sweat, level, sweat. You get the picture.

But I feel good today because I did it!
