Hi there ya'll,
At least the weather in Wisconsin can be called perfect during September. We have had over a week of blue skies and low humidity and 70's. Perfect. So Saturday I was able to go out for 21 miles on the bike over the road, past the yellowing bean fields and maturing corn. There was hardly any traffice at all, no bugs, and no wind. Outside of Omro, there is this little park to commemorate an old school, so I stopped there and ate a strawberry laced fiber bar, drank a quart of water, and enjoyed the ride back. It good being out!
Sunday I did 8 miles just to see if the legs still felt good from the day before, and they did. Another perfect day for a ride, but this time I just stayed in town and went through subdivisions amazed at how many homes have come on the market for sale in the past month. Some very nice ones, and the price has come down 15-20% from a year ago, at least that is what they appear to be.
Monday I did another long ride out to Omro, but came back along Lake Butte de Morts. 25 miles and faster than the rides Saturday and Sunday. I thought my legs would fall off, but they actually feel really good today. After the Monday ride, LaRae, Scott, and I rode down to Fond du Lac and had seafood...yes in Wisconsin...and it was actually very good. A huge surprise. Then we rode over to Sheboygan and Lake Michigan and up the lake to Manitowoc, then back to Appleton to the movie All About Steve. Pretty dumb movie, but fun with some redeeming qualities. I just can't really name but one, but I'm sure there are some...well more than one maybe....
Today is the Chancellor's run on campus. 3 miles...I'll do that since I challenged everyone in the division to go do it too. I think we have over 30 going over, but since you can walk or run or do 1, 2, or 3 miles, it's just a fun thing to go do. And a nice day for it along the Fox River. So no biking today!
Enjoy today!
